Love your gooseberry pixie and glad to hear that your allotment experience has been so nice. Ours was / is (we need to give a years notice)horrible. Overgrown patch, only to be expected but other allotment holders kept moving the boundary markers, dumping their rubbish on it and nicking stuff. We managed to get 8 water butts from a local factory they all "walked", we started to build a shed the materials would vanish before they could be used. The worst time was when my husband and some friends spent the afternoon putting up the frame of the shed only to go back the next day to find part of it missing. Even the ruhbarb we planted was dug up - unbelievable!

You lucky girl! I'd love an arrangement like that. I'd love an allotment but it's about a two year waiting list here. I think you pretty much have to wait for someone to shuffle off their mortal coil and I don't want one badly enough to wish for that!

Our goosberries are out. I don't like the outside bit, too sour. I just stand by the bush, and suck the inside bit out, discaring the rest on the floor, for our free range bunny to eat. Yes he's back out and gone ree range again. Last time he got out, it took us six months to get him back in again ! - love Julia x
