Please sir! Can I have some more?
My little urchin has just had a Victorian Day at school. They spent the day at the Museum of Kent Life which has loads of genuine Kentish buildings which have been reassembled on their site. There's a lovely old corrugated iron chapel and a schoolroom amongst others. It's well worth a visit if you're ever near by. Alexei told me with relish that children in the past were caned and beaten for being left handed. . . "Were YOU Mum?"
Yes, I'm left handed but luckily for me, my schooling took place in the free and liberal 1970's. Thank goodness . . pity about the fashion (a particulary revolting orange and brown trouser suit comes to mind) but you can't have everything.
By coincidence this week, I bought a Victorian desk and chair for Alexei.
He has wasted no time in filling it with stuff. I wonder where he gets that from?
Just look at the mess which is my workroom.
Shocking isn't it? It's half term here so I have to be nice entertaining mum as well as one that also keeps the pixie press rolling so the mess will have to wait.
And I bought this lovely book. The cat on the cosy sofa is called Colin. Colin the cat just makes the picture perfect doesn't he?
