Help, it's raining (again)
There it was staring me in the face as I turned the page of my diary.
HALF TERM
How could I forget?
Not much time for proper work but I've been busy with bits and bobs. First a set of mugs.
Secondly: a lampshade copied-from Fredsworld. The perfect activity for me as it involves fabric, glue and no sewing (there is a clue where I got some of these pieces of fabric later in the post). It was fun to do while singing along to The Sound of Music on a wet Sunday afternoon.
The weather has been crap: fine drizzle and muggy. The weather I hate more than any.
But last Saturday was sunny and Alexei and I took ourselves off shopping to frightfully polite and respectable Tunbridge Wells for new school shoes and Pokemon figures (saved pocket money burning a hole in pocket). Of course it would have been rude not to visit the new Cath Kidston shop and take advantage the 15% discount. It was fabulous. Even Alexei liked it, especially the giant gliders and jumping frogs for £1 (very shrewd and clever merchandising on CK's part.) I bought this. Oh joy! It's the perfect Germolene pink. I love this colour.
Then as I sat in the park and Alexei rolled down the bank endlessly (grass stains galore), a perfectly ordinary looking man strolled over, told me earnestly and convincingly that a giant asteroid was going to hit the earth at 23.00 hrs and the end of the world was upon us.
(I think he'd had a big bowl of crazy for breakfast).
Strangely enough, we're still here!
